BRAMPTON, ONTARIO, CANADA: The Linux Professional
Institute (LPI) today announced the completion of its Level 2
certification exams. The exams, which cover the intermediate level
of the LPI certification program, will be made available September
4 in beta form at a special price.
"We're delighted to release Level 2, on schedule and on budget,
while maintaining the high quality exam standards LPI is known
for," said LPI President Chuck Mead. "We have been making
incredible progress in advancing our program, and the community
support has been phenomenal."
Level 2 of the LPI program covers intermediate system
administration skills and is the followup to LPI's introductory
Level 1 program. The program objectives, published at the LPI
website, were developed thanks to a community-supported Job
Analysis Survey conducted by LPI in January 2001. It is aimed at
Linux system administrators with roughly three to four years'
experience who have already passed LPI's Level 1 program.
"I'm extremely proud of the quality of the program, and the hard
work that our staff and volunteers have put into Level 2," said LPI
Director of Exam Development Kara Pritchard. "The exams are
challenging but fair, and will be a valid measure of the
intermediate-level skills determined by our survey."
