Enterprise Linux Today: Bynari Releases Groupware to Compete With Exchange, Notes, Groupwise

Aug 10, 2001, 22:35 (19 Talkback[s])
"Dateline August 8th - Today, Bynari, Inc. announced the release of its full-production version of Insight GroupWare. Bynari's success on the IBM S/390 and zSeries platforms led the development team to engineer a client/server solution for IBM xSeries line of servers. Spillover from the Company's marketing efforts with Linux on the mainframe has opened new markets for lower-end and midrange platforms.

"Insight and Insight Server run natively on the Linux Operating System where the products were developed," says Tom Adelstein, Bynari's VP of Technology. "This product isn't a port of something else but an intensely engineered, high performance groupware solution. Activity coming out of the chute started briskly. To our surprise, we're seeing large, well-known enterprises adopting Linux on the desktop. The activity is remarkable."

Bynari will announce at least one enterprise implementation this month with several others in the pipeline. The Company acknowledges that it has held discussions with major firms about providing service, support and migration services to its customers."
