"US-based Caldera Systems, which recently started its
business operations in India after acquiring the server software
divison of Santa Cruz Operations (SCO), will soon be rolling out
its Linux and Unix software education and certification programs
across the country.
The company is currently in talks with four non-formal IT
education companies having national and regional presence, for a
tie-up to offer training courses on its unified Linux and Unix
system software, OpenUnix 8, Linux servers and workstations and
system management tools.
Caldera, which is known for its Linux system software and tools
has acquired SCO?s Unix server operations last year. The merger has
provided the company an opportunity to combine the strengths of
Linux and Unix in rolling out unified products. The move also paved
way to the entry of Caldera in India as SCO was already operating
and selling its SCO-Unix server in the country."
