"My dream of starting a game company goes back to when
I was using OS/2 and I was not happy with the game selection. In
1998, I started to use RedHat Linux 5.1 and I quickly learned that
I just had to download a couple of extra software to get a great
OS. In 1999, it was looking like Linux would have a good chance to
get a good market share, and I simply decided it was the time to
start a game business around it.
Correct me if I am wrong, but you are the only one left
at Tribsoft and yet have at least three projects left [Jagged
Alliance 2 patch, finish Majesty & Europa Universalis
ports].
The bank account dried as the Jagged Alliance 2 port was near
complete in Summer 2000, but our publisher at the time (the one
before Titan Computer) stopped all contact with us. It took too
much time to find a new publisher and get the game out, so it was
impossible to keep the team in place. Fortunately, the JA2
publishing deal allowed us to pay all remaining due to our
programmers. We had a lot of fun to meet again at an Irish Pub in
downtown Montreal when I had the JA2 for Linux retail boxes and
their final check!"
