SuSE: ext3 as root file system [a fix for SuSE 7.3]

SuSE has released a fix for a faulty mk_initrd script that kept
users from mounting ext3 filesystems:
Demand
You want to use a ext3 partition as root partition. Since there is
an error in the script mk_initrd in SuSE Linux 7.3, it is not
possible.
Procedure
Download the latest version of the script from our ftp Server and
copy it to sbin, so that the root partition can also be ext3...
