"About a year ago, we tried to install some of the new versions of Quanta + that were being released. The choices for HTML/PHP editors under the Linux OS was very limited. And sadly, we had a heck of a time getting Quanta + installed. Fortunately for theKompany.com, many people can enjoy Quanta + now because it is included with several commercial distributions. Otherwise, forget it.

...Highlighting php code is never perfect in Bluefish and the same is true for Quanta Gold. As we were typing, colors would be changing above our text. Blue - no red - no green - no purple. Oh well. I stopped relying on the color coding to figure out if there was a mistake in the code.

The bottom line is that we cannot recommend this product for professional webdesigners. Even though the program is less than $40 for the download version, I just can't see a programmer being happy with it. Maybe someone interested in learning HTML/PHP coding might find the program helpful. However, a professional would throw up their hands with the mouse error and the strange highlighting. It is certainly not a dream tool for a professional."
