Requests For Comments are the Bible of the Internet, but unfortunately their usefulness as reference materials were restricted by their format.

Last year we have started the Zvon RFC Repository project (http://zvon.org/tmRFC/RFC_share/Output/index.html), which reached a very important milestone [March 19]: all on-line accessible RFCs are now available in the repository with following features:

  • Clickable table of contents
  • Titles on all levels are searchable
  • RFC dependencies including the list of RFCs the current RFC is referred by and W3C standards referring to the current RFC
  • Obsoleted RFCs have different style
  • Main indexes show obsolation chains
  • Index of humorous RFC ( some are really good :) )

System administrators may find RFC status codes search useful: http://zvon.org/tmRFC/RFC_share/PHP/numbersSearch.php

Individual RFCs are available for download.
