"Those wanting to take the plunge into Linux will find out everything they need to know about it at an upcoming Linux Installfest in Auckland.

"The Linux user group will be running the event on March 30 at Auckland University's engineering department at which people can bring in their computers and have the open source operating system loaded -- presuming they've backed up their hard drives first.

"User group member and software developer Dylan Reeve says people will be able to choose whatever flavour of Linux they want..."
