"Free CRM software is not likely to flood the market anytime
soon, but experts say open source Latest News about open source
programs that have made inroads on the infrastructure side could
provide companies with new ways to cut costs.
"In contrast, most companies that already take advantage of open
source for e-business do so on Web and database servers based on
such programs as Unix, Linux and Apache, according to Gartner vice
president and research fellow Jeff Comport.
"Comport said the landscape appears quite different in the CRM
industry. "In CRM, you're seeing it in some cases at the
infrastructure level," he told CRMDaily.com. 'It really isn't seen
much at the application level...'"
