"While Sun maintains that its products do perform better than
others' and result in lower maintenance costs, it is slowly
branching out. Sun in September said it plans to make inexpensive
PCs based on Linux. Before that, it launched a low-end Linux server
to better battle similar offerings from Dell.
"Still, McNealy isn't wavering much in his belief in Unix, which
still runs on most servers.
