"First, I browse on over to LinuxIso.org to find out if the
latest version of Distribution X has iso images available for
download. If so, it's just a matter of downloading the iso images I
need and then burning them to CDs. Even with broadband however, if
you try to grab a large distribution consisting of serveral iso
images, it can take hours to download. This will differ from user
to user, and of course, dial-up users still would have considerably
long download times to deal with. No matter how long it takes
though, you can't beat the price since downloaded iso image files
are free. All you pay for is the media you burn it on.
"If I decide I'd rather just buy the media, my second option,
there are several inexpensive online stores to turn to. Linux
Central has been a great resource for getting the latest Linux
distributions at very reasonable prices. In the past, I've ordered
multiple CD distributions from Linux Central for a great price and
have always enjoyed excellent service and delivery times.
"If you're like me, when you find a store that gives you good
service as well as cheap prices, you tend to be very loyal. But
with times as they are, I'm always on the lookout for saving a few
extra dollars, and that's where AlmostFreeLinux came in..."
