"I installed SuSE 8.2 (nice) via a FTP install last night. This was my second time to do a FTP install. It was not too difficult. You need to know 3 things before you get started. You need to know the network card module/driver for your broadband connection, the ip address of the ftp server and the directory that contains the rpms.

"It is highly recommended that you have a broadband connection before attempting this kind of install. This only works for cable modem users. DSL users are out of luck at there is no way to enter your name and password as far as I know. The first thing you need to to do is download the 18mb boot.iso and burn it to CDR..."
