"Television with Internet connection has been reintroduced to the market seven years after its unsuccessful debut. This time, televisions are hooked up with high-speed connections, such as ADSL, and enhanced interactivity, which is one of the characteristics of digital broadcasting.

"Matsushita Electric Industrial Co. introduced in May a television with a built-in BS/110 CS digital tuner and an Internet connection capability that is exclusive to television. It is Matsushita's first television with Internet connection. Special browsing software based on the Linux open source operating system is preinstalled.
