"Today, we are reviewing the Deluxe version of the distro, which
retails at $99.95 USD (their standard desktop retails for $39.95
and they offer upgrade pricing from their 1.x releases starting at
$29.95). The major difference between the two versions is the
inclusion of CodeWeavers Crossover Office and Crossover Plugin
which are included in the Deluxe version. Both releases are built
on Debian 4.0 (Sarge), kernel 2.4.22, KDE 3.1.4, and XFree 4.3.
This is a huge step forward for them over previous releases and I
firmly believe adds tremendously to the overall value of the
finished product. As with most other distros, you are also blessed
with Linux computing standards such as OpenOffice.org 1.1 and
Mozilla 1.4 (which is currently in stable release 1.5, but this
release is close enough to perfect for me).
"Xandros 2.0 Deluxe falls in a special category of distros
reserved for the would-be Windows convert. It keeps close company
with its cousin LindowsOS, and with features such as seamless
Windows networking, CD burning/file manager integration,
directory/printer sharing, and easy software updates makes it stand
head and shoulders above the rest. After reviewing other
Windows-like distros such as LindowsOS, I believe Xandros has done
