"I recently purchased a used computer over the Internet to replace a secondary computer, whose life had come to an end, that my kids used for certain educational programs and games that run well on Windows 98 but not on Windows XP. They also like to play some of the games on Linux so I wanted a machine that could be used for games, web surfing, email, word processing and some of my development work as well. The 'new' used computer is an HP Vectra computer with a 500 MHZ Pentium III processor, 256 meg of RAM, an 8 gig hard-drive, a CDROM drive, and on-board 8 meg video and sound cards. Not exactly your latest scream-in dream-in computer, but it would do for our needs, and it was cheap. I added a 30 gig hard-disk I had laying around as the primary drive and moved the 8 gig drive over as the secondary drive..."
