"Today I received a new ATI video card which I promptly
installed at my computer. The ATI Radeon X1050* is not a specially
strong card I'm told, which is rated as an entry-level graphics
chip, but still better than the previous one because ATI dropped
support for the Radeon 9200 with the last published driver update
in August 06. With the old card, DVI output didn't worked at all
when I used the fglrx driver supplied by ATI--it did however with
the x.org driver which comes with the StartCom MultiMedia Edition.
But also running the famous XGL/AIGXL server with the compiz 3D
window manager** could be described at best 'working to buggy'...
Needless to say, that except for testing and a few screen shots I
didn't run neither Compiz nor the ATI driver on my PC for more then
a few days..."
