Sun Shines More Light On Open Source Kernels

"Sun Microsystems will hold its first-ever Australian Kernel conference in July this year that will examine any open source kernels and technologies within those kernels.

"Senior Kernel Software Engineer, for Sun's Solaris, James McPherson said the conference was timely as organisations are increasingly using Open Source operating systems to enable continued innovation under a tighter IT budget.

""The current economy and the ongoing growth and uptake of Open Source means that this year is an opportune time in the market to provide a platform for the industry to network and collaborate on this topic," he said."
