Re-Imagining Linux Platforms to Meet the Needs of Cloud Service Providers
by Carla Schroder
What to do on a long weekend? Digikam, Ardour, Drupal, new
Monday is the Labor Day holiday for US residents, which means
three days to have fun. As usual my todo list is too long: review a
computer from ZaReason, learn more Drupal, think about upgrading my
ancient Debian Etch system, though I still can't think of a reason
why, learn more Ardour, write up a RAW conversion howto for
Digikam...there are not enough hours in the day. The weather is
going to be nice, so the great outdoors will be calling too.
Here are some Digikam-edited images created from Canon cr2 RAW
files; Digikam is wonderful, powerful, and easy. Which reminds me
of another project-- calibrate my monitor. There are some Web sites
with charts so you can make adjustments by eye, but the most
accurate way is to use a measuring instrument. There is some Linux
software for these devices such as Argyll, which calibrates monitors,
printers, and scanners.
I wish everyone a great weekend whatever you are doing, and
we'll see you next week!
