"Android Market is now offering 200,000 applications, only a few
months after surpassing 100,000, according to estimates published
by AndroLib. Meanwhile, Google launched a carrier billing feature
for AT&T customers, who can now download applications from the
Android Market and bill them directly to their wireless service
bills.
"According to app search and tracking site AndroLib, Android
Market has doubled its store of apps in recent months, and now
exceeds 200,000. AndroLib also reports that 63.4 percent of those
apps are free, vs. 36.6 percent that cost money. Meanwhile, the
number of applications that have been downloaded from Android
Market has surpassed 2.5 billion, according to the company."
