"Red Hat, Inc. (NYSE: RHT), the world's leading provider of open source solutions, today announced that the PGA TOUR teamed with its official technology partner CDW to migrate its proprietary servers to Red Hat Enterprise Linux for enhanced reliability, stability and performance for its strategic digital media assets management system.

The PGA TOUR is a nonprofit association for professional golfers. It stages tournaments, disseminates player statistics and scores and supplies media outlets with content for entertainment and promotional purposes. In the mid-2000s, 90 percent of the PGA TOUR's business-critical systems ran on proprietary servers. Looking for a more reliable and higher-performance operating platform to scale its datacenter infrastructure and legacy applications, including IBM Lotus Notes, it began migrating its systems to Red Hat Enterprise Linux.
