“UniBar, Inc. today announced e-BARZ(TM), an e-commerce
version of the popular UniBar bar code printing software, offering
graphics output that can be added to HTML documents (or other
document types supported by a browser), then viewed
and printed from a browser on the client system. This is
accomplished without downloading any software to the client PC. The
Web application dynamically creates the bar code images by
executing e-BARZ. Anyone accessing the target Web site can print
through the browser to the PC’s local printer. Now, account
applications, shipping documents, coupons, order forms purchase
orders, invoices, pick slips, created on Web Servers can contain
bar codes that can be viewed and printed locally on any
Browser-supported printer.
‘We created e-BARZ because of requests from some of our larger
customers, who needed a way to dynamically add bar codes to Web
server applications,’ said Ted Kruse, president and founder of
UniBar, Inc. ‘The Web application output, including the bar code,
must be viewable and printable on client systems using standard
hardware and software – in other words, a browser!’
e-BARZ is available for the UNIX, Linux, and NT environments,
which includes all the popular Web servers. A version is also
available for Windows 95/98. All features and function of the
popular UniBar BARZ_OUT bar code printing software are included in
the e-BARZ product. e-BARZ supports 3 of 9, Extended 3 of 9, and I
2 of 5 symbologies (for additional symbologies see Pro version
below) and with height options in hundreds of an inch, .05″ to 12″.
e-BARZ easily installs on the server with no hardware to install or
upgrade. The Web application passes the data, parameters, and name
for file to be created,. e-BARZ creates the bar code graphic file
and returns to Web application. Parameters include symbology,
height, density, etc. “
