“Linux fever stays strong in session of big stock gainers, few
losers”
“In the session’s biggest gainer, shares of V-One (VONE) Corp…
rose by triple digits after the computer network operator announced
the development of a new server that installs the Linux operating
system.
In recent days, proximity to Linux, which some predict could
overtake Microsoft’s Windows NT, has been enough to send a stock
catapulting.
The trend continued Tuesday as shares of Germantown, MD.-based
V-One climbed 2-17/32, or 113 percent, to 4-25/32.
The gains follow similar surges last month by Red Hat (RHAT),
which distributed Linux, and Applix Inc. (APLX), which makes Linux
software.”
