First Arabic Language Linux User Group

[ Thanks to abu-Khaled for this
announcement. ]

Welcome to the Arab Linux User Group(ALUG)!
The First Linux User Group in the Arabic Language

Arab Linux User Group(ALUG) is a non-profit organization
dedicated to promoting Linux in the Arab world.
We intend to
do this by educating people about Linux and helping people start
using Linux by making it easily accessible and providing the
initial assistance to get started with Linux.

The group includes engineers, corporate users, consultants,
journalists and normal computer users as well. We engage in
technical discussions as well as general discussion related to the
growth of Linux, particularly in education and home use. The group
is well spread out throughout the Arab world.

To achieve the objectives of ALUG, the growth of Linux User
Groups in the Arab world is a must. ALUG helps in whatever way
possible all the user groups in the Arab world — whether they are
associated with us or not. This includes but is not limited to
helping in procuring the latest Linux software and technical
help.

Technical support is always a need for new users of computers on
Linux. ALUG provides support to all new users through the
Discussion Board, a group of volunteers, who can provide
installation support on site.

Install Fests and seminars are being planned for disseminating
information about Linux.
