A German news site seems to be reporting that VA Linux is
working on a dual Athlon server with AMD. We asked regular Linux
Today reader Fred Mobach to translate from the original German
text, and here’s what he reports:

“I would like to stress the text ‘… with the new Dual-Athlon
was showed by AMD with an one-unit high servermodule from VA
Linux’.”

“It says exactly that AMD showed a VA Linux server with two
Athlon CPU’s. So this has been showed by AMD. But it says also ‘But
VA Linux offers these CPU’s only in the 900 MHz range’. Which says
that VA Linux is really involved.”

“This is exactly what the German text reads.”

“Not exactly what I think is clear reporting of the exact facts.
It’s a bit unclear as if AMD and VA Linux are showing a prototype
product from their cooperative labor.”
