“This week has seen a flurry of development here at The
Linux Knowledge Base. Some developers went days with no
sleep… and only a little water. The amount that has been
accomplished amazes just about all of us. The date/time of go-live
has been set. There’s a lot to cover, but here are the big
points:
– Article submission code functional thanks to Daniel.
– Further bug fixes and improvments in the functions library to
assist developers accomplished by Jason.
– Forms for creation of Application, Container, and Externl Link
objects committed and made functional by Jason.
– Viewers for Articles and External Links updated and made
functional by Jason and Aaron.
– More work done on tree maintenance utility by Aaron.
– Nearly a complete site face-lift for browsing and navigation
completed by Jason.
– User sign-up scripts developed further by Micah and finished by Jason. These
are now functional.
– Further work done on developers documentation site by Mike
– And lots more. Thanks for everyone’s tremendous effort this
week!
The Linux Knowledge Base will
be available for the public on Tuesday, Feb. 8th. The plan to
go-live this week has been pushed back so that we can have one of
our developers on stand-by near the servers. Thanks Aaron!
This week we’ll be at The
Linux World Expo in New York City. There, at the Mandrake booth, we will be
showing off the LKB, and it will be functional. We’ll be merging
changes when we return, and turning it on for everyone. Hope to see
some of you at the expo!
