One man’s crusade ended this week with the announcement
that plans for Corel and Inprise to merge had been terminated amid
plummeting stock prices that shook the deal’s financial foundation
to its very core.

“Don Magie has been programming since puberty. Now, at 32, he
has been busy as the master of his Web site aimed at educating
people about the relationship between Corel and Inprise and
stopping the merger by whatever means necessary….”

“Magie said that it was through these postings that he realized
there was a great community demand for the information he was
dredging up as his research continued. “Such was the demand from
other posters for me to regularly repost it was clear that others
were seriously questioning the wisdom of the deal and were
searching for answers,” he said. The Web site is a place where I
can share what I know, and also what I think all shareholders
should know about the two companies in this marriage.”
