“Optimized for server-based network backup, Arkeia will be
offered for pre-installation on Penguin servers outfitted with the
customer’s choice of tape backup drives.”

“Knox Software Corp, a Southern Calif.-based developer of
network backup software, announced today that the company has
entered into a reseller agreement with Penguin Computing Inc., a
San Francisco, Calif.-based provider of reliable Linux systems for
Internet serving. Under the agreement, Penguin Computing will now
offer Knox’s flagship network backup application, Arkeia, for
bundling with Penguin’s pre-configured custom Linux servers.”

“Optimized for server-based network backup, Arkeia will be
offered for pre-installation on Penguin servers outfitted with the
customer’s choice of tape backup drives. Knox has certified Arkeia
4.2 for compatibility with both the standard Penguin OS
configuration and with the standard tape backup hardware that
Penguin offers with its servers: Red Hat Linux 6.2, as well as DDS
and VXA-based tape drives manufactured by Hewlett Packard Co and
Ecrix.”
