“A co-worker’s purchase of a new laptop computer was inspiration
for the idea that Mark Cloyd of Chadron is putting into action as a
means to help more Chadron students take advantage of the
opportunities that technology provides.

will have to add a new word to their vocabulary, Ubuntu,’ and learn
to get along without some of the familiar computer programs they

“Cloyd’s project, which is just getting underway, aims to take

free, open source operating system and other free programs and give
them to students who aren’t able to afford their own computer.”
