Advisory ID: RHEA-1999:048-01
Issue date: 1999-11-01
Updated on: 1999-11-01
Keywords: rp3 adding modem chat netcfg
Cross references:
1. Topic:
The rp3 package, containing the rp3 and rp3-config programs, has
been found to have a few bugs regarding multiple modem
configuration and pre-existing PPP configurations.
2. Problem description:
When users attempted to add a new modem in the PPP Configuration
Tool (the rp3-config program), rp3-config died of a segmentation
violation. Also, already-existing PPP configurations could confuse
rp3-config; it would try to edit them as if it had set them up in
the first place, causing those configurations to quit working.
