SRO: Prefab Linux Servers Debut, First Linux ‘white box’ vertical alliance is formed.

Resellers’ prayers have been answered–at least the prayers
of those to who Linux sounds great, but can’t afford the time
needed to install the operating systems, make sure all the drivers
are working right and then customize the box.

“For these resellers, the first Linux white-box vertical
alliance–bundle from Linux vendor Red Hat Software,
communications-hardware specialist Digi International and vertical
integrator Jones Business Systems Inc.”

“The foundation for this vertical consortium is the partnership
between Digi and Red Hat. Via the deal, the two have agreed to join
in marketing and development plans that will enable resellers to
offer Linux-based communications for small to midsize businesses
(SMB).”
