“Over the past several days I’ve been mulling over the news of
Intel’s apparent backstabbing of the Linux and BSD communities by
hiding the truth about the flaws in their Core 2 chips. Flaws which
would leave any OS using them vulnerable to a wide range of very
devastating hacks and potential viruses. It’s even got developers
seriously worried. Seeing that Intel has only revealed the details
of these flaws to Microsoft and has completely shut out the OSS
community, I was about to start screaming conspiracy and start
pointing towards a return to the WinTel alliance with Intel and
Microsoft resurrecting their previous monopoly on the entire tech
market. I know it’s a situation they’d all love to go back to, but
at the same time, it’s one that will never happen again, despite
their best efforts…”
