“Linux-related properties might be bouncing all over the place
on the stock market, but that didn’t prevent Internet media giant
ZDNet from grabbing LinuxDevices.com, a 6-month-old website that
bills itself as the “The Embedded Linux Portal.”

“Neither company specified the terms of the sale, but in a press
release announcing the acquisition, ZDNet president Dan Rosenweig
described LinuxDevices.com, which publishes stories and releases
related to the Linux embedded market, as a ‘killer site’ and
praised site creator Rick Lehrbaum.”

The authority of his content as the last word on embedded
Linux applications and devices is underscored by LinuxDevices.com’s
sponsor list,’ Rosenweig said, describing the companies on that
list — companies such as Lineo, Motorola, Linuxcare, and Monta
Vista Software — as a ‘who’s who’ of the embedded Linux
market.
