"Michael Cowpland has agreed to sit on a small Ottawa company's new advisory board, the former Corel Corp. boss's first professional move since he left the software maker last month."
"Mr. Cowpland, who founded Corel and also co-founded Mitel Corp., has joined the five-person technology advisory board of Zim Technologies International Inc., a private company that specializes in information management products and services. The move is consistent with the vow he made when he stepped down at Corel to get involved in smaller players working with the Linux operating system."
"Mr. Cowpland, who remains a director at Corel, also said that he and others are on the verge of opening an incubator facility in Hull, Que., for local Linux startups. The incubator, which would provide infrastructure and guidance for smaller firms, will likely be opened within the next couple of weeks, he said."
