"Cash strapped Corel Corp. is considering options for its Linux
operating system business, including a possible sale."
"'In order for [the business] to be successful, it needs to be
bigger than it is,' Derek Burney, the chief executive, said
yesterday. 'There are a number of ways to do that. We could acquire
the missing pieces, we could merge with someone, or we could simply
sell it. We are prepared to look at any possibility.'"
"Ottawa-based Corel, who's stock has tumbled more than 75% this
year, expects to announce its plan for the Linux business as early
as next month."
