In a Microsoft sponsored study comparing Windows 2000 with SuSE 6.4 and Red Hat 6.2, Windows 2000 triumphed over its open source rivals.
Translated by babelfish:
"Network: Windows 2000 before Linux."
"In the study the TUEVIT on behalf of Microsoft checked whether Windows is 2000 or Linux as operating system better with the application in the enterprise network for 50 users prepared. The examiners consider ergonomics, costs, stability availability and security. A summary of the investigation offers the TUEV in the Web. The result: Windows 2000 cuts off better than the examined Linux distributions Suse 6,4 and Red Hat 6.2."
"As far as from the summary can be inferred, the test report comes however in some places hardly beyond the usual general workstations. At Windows 2000 as servers the TUEV praises the directory service (Active directory) anyhow. Under Linux it puts out, which the administrator much has to complete on the command line and with scripts. In some points the TUEV divides however to both systems equally out: Thus he diagnoses substantial Potenzial with both " for increase the self description ability " and does not reprimand thereby the not fulfilled requirement to bring users purposefully to a problem solution more near. ( HP / c't)."
