"... First of all, what have Loki done lately? Well, there have
been the obligatory patches for their products, including a patch
for Myth 2: Soulblighter, a fantastic game which, despite all the
claims with the current patch, still won't use my 3D card. This
even thought the card works with everything else. I've had problems
since day one with Myth, but at the time I wrote my review I
figured it was configuration issues AKA: my fault. Since then I
have discovered that the problem is the game, not me. This issue
has been sitting around in their bug tracking system for over six
months now. The whole situation is a joke and has led to me
removing the game from my system."
"Another thing Loki have done lately is released their update
tool. This is a great idea. I was sceptical at first since it
seemed very Windows like, but when I tried it I was very impressed.
You run the program, it checks what Loki products you have
installed, then compares what versions you have to what versions
are currently available. If there is a patch you don't have, it
will download it and install it. Very simple, but also very
"Something odd is afoot at Loki, though. Several programmers
have recently left the company, Alpha Centauri, which I previewed a
long time ago, went gold six months ago and has yet to ship. The
only thing coming out of Loki currently is the fact that they
aren't going to talk about whatever the problems are."
