"In the latest sign that the free operating system Linux is
proliferating in the solutions marketplace, more than a third of
solution providers in North America are plugging in Linux
solutions, according to a December 2000 study by Reality Research
& Consulting."
"The research, which garnered 7,556 responses, found 41 percent
of solution providers pointing to Linux as one of three primary
operating systems that their company resells, specifies, recommends
or approves. In comparison, 89 percent cited Windows NT Server and
48 percent named NetWare (all versions)."
"Reality also finds evidence of Linux adoption in the
end-customer marketplace."
