The good folks at IBM give us some more information on how to
extend their tools, this time with a look at porting Domino
applications to Solaris and Linux. It's not an easy process, as the
" Of primary importance is whether your application is
self-contained within Domino. If the application is self-contained
within Domino, it doesn't have any hooks outside the Domino
operating environment, and can therefore run within any Domino
operating environment, including Linux or Solaris. If it is not
self-contained, some modification may be necessary to accommodate
the new operating system...."
"...neither the Linux nor the Solaris Domino server currently
supports ActiveX, OLE, DDE, Visual Basic, or COM/DCOM operations.
If your application does contain such calls, you will need to
modify the application."
