Admittedly, this "article" is barely a step above a press release, but it does indicate how Linux is now being perceived around the world.

"SAYING that local small and medium businesses (SMBs) have begun embracing open source systems such as Linux, IBM is positioning itself to take advantage of this trend."

"'The Philippine market is starting to embrace Linux, especially small businesses that are often conservative in their IT investments,' said Karen Yusi, IBM Philippines manager for Very Small Businesses, in a press briefing."

"Claiming that it sees 'huge growth in demand for Linux this year,' IBM announced several initiatives aimed at the largely untapped SMB market, including the availability of Linux boxes priced for SMBs."
