Re-Imagining Linux Platforms to Meet the Needs of Cloud Service Providers

"German Linux distributor SuSE Monday said it has struck a technology alliance with iAnywhere Solutions a subsidiary of Sybase.

"The two companies say they will optimize SQL Anywhere Studio for SuSE Linux Enterprise Server 8. The partnership lets SuSE customers to use SQL Anywhere Studio to create database-powered applications as an alternative to offerings from the Oracle, Red Hat coalition.

"The platform is targeted towards mobile, embedded and small to medium sized business environments through Sybase's various services such as AvantGo, the company's mobile Internet service..."
