"Sun Microsystems Inc has extended its focus on open source software initiatives to include South Asia, the head of its open source programmes office Danese Cooper has told In.Tech.

"The 'open source evangelist' has spent the last five years on Sun's open source efforts in Europe and North America, and was in Kuala Lumpur last month to talk to Malaysian organisations like the Malaysian Administrative Modernisation and Management Planning Unit (Mampu), Monash University, as well as open source advocates.
