"When I was at Novell on my first tour of duty (with
Eric Schmidt) in 1997, I was an open source advocate. I was pushing
Linux into Novell back then but to no avail. So, no Stadium lights,
just a penlight in the mens locker room. About 14 months ago, Jack
and I realized we needed an 'event' to change Novell. We needed a
platform shift and we needed to get ISV's, IHV's to look at us as
