"We had the opportunity to sit down with Joseph Eckert, SUSE
LINUX Vice President of Corporate Communications, and pick his
brain for a few moments regarding the current state of their
corporation as well as the future. SUSE has always been at the top

"If you haven't heard it yet, the new version will hit retail
shelves and virtual online shelves in early May. Another new
feature is the pricing... it's dropped. The Personal version will
set you back $29.95USD (a 2 CD set), while the Professional version
will ring in at $89.95USD. If you already own a previous copy of
SUSE LINUX, you can buy the upgrade for only $59.95USD (5 CD/2
double-sided DVD set). This is a nice break on an excellent desktop
distro. New in this release is the introduction of the Linux 2.6,
which is the first commercial retail release of the new kernel. For
the desktop enviroment, GNOME 2.4.2 and KDE 3.2.1 should make you
smile. It also includes the ability to run the OS right from a
bootable live CD. This will make the perfect companion for the
professional on the go..."
