"There has been some chatter on the Street that the stock of Sun Microsystems could be a good longer-term buy at these levels (the stock closed Monday, May 17, at $3.76). However, I disagree with that investment idea largely because I don't think the longer-term risk/reward is favorable for a long-term position in SUNW. Perhaps things may change at Sun, but until I see sustained progress on a turnaround plan coupled with sustained improvement in revenue generation, I would rather sit on the sidelines. That said, for those prepared to take the risk--and those who are also very patient--then it might be worth rolling the dice and taking a longer-term 'buy and hold' position in Sun's stock. But I'd be inclined to invest elsewhere for now..."
