Re-Imagining Linux Platforms to Meet the Needs of Cloud Service Providers
"Perhaps the major theme that came through from the Bloor
Research Open Source Event last week was the 'maturity factor' that
accompanies the Open Source proposition. Here's a summary of some
of the points that emerged. An Open Source product is, as products
go, different from other software products in only a few ways:
- "The Source is freely available.
- "The license fee is low (possibly non-existent) and the
software license itself is likely to restrict the further use of
the source code in some way..."
