The gravy train that the Windows platform has been enjoying while attacking the vast installed base of Unix servers in the enterprise resource planning (ERP) application software market may be jumping tracks, and a new train appears to be rolling in: the Linux platform. Companies are increasingly turning to Linux to run SAP, Oracle, and PeopleSoft ERP application suites, according to a survey by Peerstone Research.
