"In a move that could accelerate the use of the OpenBSD operating system, Network Security Technologies, Inc...a leading provider of managed e-security, has announced that it will offer commercial support for the OS which is available as free software. Through the agreement, NSTI will provide assistance with integration, deployment and consulting for OpenBSD users."

"The company said the agreement will provide users with improved manageability and increased acceptance for the OpenBSD platform. Developed by a network of volunteers, OpenBSD does not currently offer formal support for the operating system. Through the agreement, NSTI will offer commercial entities utilizing the OpenBSD technical support in implementation and configuration."

"NSTI currently uses OpenBSD as the platform for its Network Security Operations Center (NSOC) and its security appliance that is deployed inside a company's Internet link to filter all incoming and outgoing traffic per the policies established jointly by NSTI and the customer. In addition, several of NSTI's engineers are part of the team of volunteers working to develop the operating system."
