"E-security vendor Axent Technologies today unveiled a partnership with Cobalt Networks under which the companies will produce a Linux firewall and virtual private network appliance for small to midsize companies, branch offices, and service providers."

"The product will be based on Axent's Raptor and PowerVPN software and Cobalt's RaQ 3 server appliance. Company executives say the appliance will provide users with a low-cost enterprise-class solution without the hassles usually associated with installation, configuration, and maintenance of traditional firewall products."
