"Maryland Gov. Parris N. Glendening is expected Tuesday to sign
into law the controversial Uniform Computer Information
Transactions Act (UCITA). The act was recently approved by the
state's general assembly."
"Although Maryland is the second state to approve UCITA, it
may be the first state to legally enact the measure, according to a
spokeswoman at the governor's office. The act, if signed
Tuesday, will take effect later this year."
