"As companies struggled to right their networks after being
slammed by the "I Love You" virus-worm hybrid early Thursday, they
were hit this afternoon by "I Love You's" equally evil twin,
"Joke."
"Because the virus can't do any damage without a Window
scripting host, it will not affect Macintosh or Linux computers.
Still, anyone with Windows 98, Windows 2000 or Microsoft Explorer
5.0 or above is vulnerable."
"Several companies, including Microsoft and half a dozen Fortune
500 companies, were hit so hard Thursday that they shut their gates
to all external e-mail. CNN reported that the U.S. Senate shut down
its internal e-mail system, as well."
